Wordless Wednesdays

Happy Wednesday!  And welcome to your weekly opportunity to do all the talking.

Use the above photograph, all five senses, your memory, and your imagination to talk about some of the following:

What does this image say to you?  What does it remind you of?  Make you look forward to (or dread)?

Share away!

Until next time,
~~ Hasky

  1. It reminds me of my Thanksgivings way back when and no one EVER wanting the pumpkin pie yet, like the Christmas fruit cake (and I don't mean my crazy great aunt Anna), it always made an appearance. The china, on the other hand, looks just like my grandmother's beautiful set which all went to my order sisters. Hmmmm...I'm really trying to be positive...OK- the sterling fork reminds me of my husband's grandmother's silver which I wanted really, really bad...alas, the full set was handed down to his single brother in a dirty old cigar box...still wishing it came my way - cigar box and all.

It's the best I have for you, Hasky!

    GREAT post!

  2. I love this! I had similar reactions to all of it - especially the china and the silver.

And as a general rule (not that there are any "rules" here, but ...) you do NOT have to be all positive! I actually wondered, since the holidays can be such a time of stress and/or difficult memories for so many, whether people would share thoughts about those kinds of things, too.

And here's what I think: Since your sisters got the china and your brother-in-law got the silver, they get to make the pies and you get to eat them! Though I am glad that the great memories were handed down to you :)

  3. Thanksgiving!..and my trip to Grenada...Odd connection? When I stepped off the plane on the island my first awareness was of the fragrance of spice - nutmeg, allspice...in the air! They are called the "Spice Islands" after all.
